Training

Because 88% of all accidents are primarily caused by individuals acting unsafely, training in health and safety is essential to ensure people carry out their jobs in a safe, effective manner.

Training can be general, such as the induction a member of staff will receive on arrival that includes background on who they are working for, familiarisation with the building, getting to know fellow workers and managers and their roles, introduction to manual handling, fire procedures, first aid, accident reporting, rules, working times, etc.

Specific training focuses on the detailed nature of a particular job. We offer assistance in setting up general and specific training appropriate to the size and work of your organization. We also ensure that systems are set up for recording training in employees’ files, and indicate what job specific training should not be completed in-house.

Health and Safety: Fact from Fiction
A one-day workshop for wardens, trustees, members of management committees and others interested in a practical and positive health and safety approach. download brochure

Manual Handling: Train the Trainer
A three day course aimed at those who will have the responsibility for providing manual handling training to others. The course covers manual handling theory and practice, anatomy, Health and Safety law, risk assessment, training skills. A practical and theory exam is given on the final half day.

Manual Handling: Workshop
This workshop covers both theory and practice of manual handling. The workshop is tailored in terms of both length and content to match the needs of the organisation.

Risk Assessment
A workshop covering the theory and practice of risk assessment. This is normally a half day workshop with practical involvement of all on the course
