Media
We get your news out to print, radio, broadcast and online journalists. We specialize in campaigns and events that need international media attention.
- Media strategies for special events – We accompany the planning for your special event to reach your objectives and attract media interest. We advise on the best products and services to reach media, write press releases and other materials; compose and coordinate a media team to cover the event (print, photo, video, web); and track coverage.
- Media relations – We can set up a press office for your organisation by collecting media contacts in target agencies and audiences to form or update your press database; contacting journalists to develop interest in your news/organisation; and designing and coordinating ongoing systems for producing press releases and other materials.
- Press releases and materials – We find the best news angle for your event or announcement, write press releases and prepare press kits, handle press inquiries, and track media coverage.
- Training – We can improve your skills and those of your staff in handling media interviews and conveying core messages.
- Ecumenical Media Team, International AIDS Conference
- We set up a 23 person media team to cover the International AIDS Conference in Toronto, Canada in 2006. Communication Point selected team members; coordinated logistics such as registrations, flights, accommodation, visas, office space and infrastructure, and mobile phone rental. We served as team coordinator and managing editor for press releases and feature articles, video and audio highlights, photos, and a daily bulletin, all posted on a special website. Click here
- Ongoing media relations. Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance (EAA)
- Communication Point works closely with key staff so that when the strategy indicates, or an issue arises that needs public attention, we write or oversee a press release or article based on the information EAA provides. Many times we will also do more extensive research for the content, including getting quotes from key figures. Press releases are approved by EAA before EAA sends them to the media list that CP has helped to create. Click here
- World AIDS Day, World AIDS Campaign
